Bryce Johnson

After finishing grad school and my fifth and final year of NCAA eligibility at Northwestern State University, I came home to Pass Christian to work with athletes. What started as baseball skills training turned into a coaching business, and the pattern I kept running into was the same one every time: my client had the mechanics, but not the engine. They couldn't hold their swing together in the seventh inning. That's a strength and conditioning problem, not a hitting problem, and it's what pulled me into this side of the work.

Five years of college baseball, three at the Division I level with Northwestern State. Appeared in 71 games as a Demon, with a career-high three hits and a walk-off three-run home run in a 12-inning win at Incarnate Word. Hit home runs in back-to-back games twice, including a three-run shot in the eighth to flip a game and clinch a series at Nicholls. Before Northwestern State, second-team all-conference and a .318 hitter with 36 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. Two-time Perfect Game Preseason All-American in high school, all-district four years running, and a .330 senior season with nine home runs.

Right now I'm a new recruit with the Gulfport Fire Department. The academy puts a real number on what your body can do under load and under stress, and it reset how I think about training. Nobody in that building cares what you can lift once on a fresh Monday. They care what you have left on hour nine.

That's how I program. Strength you can actually use, built around the week you actually have, not the one you wish you had. No hundred-dollar-a-month gatekeeping, no plan you quit in three weeks because it was written for somebody with different equipment and a different schedule.

The name comes from the house I grew up in. Die-hard LSU fans, purple and gold on every fall Saturday, and that spelling worked its way into how we talked about everything. Geaux Mode is the switch that flips when it stops being about how you feel and starts being about what you came to do.
